Healthy Starts With Us!!!! (Teeth)

Hi, new blogger here!!! Just wanted to start my blog off with an introduction.  I have a little family of five including me, and my journey to a holistic lifestyle has been long, tedious, and fun!!! I'm super excited to share my findings with you all. So sit back, hang loose and get ready to read up on some natural ways to live your life, DIY's, and background information!!!!

Let's Just Start With:

Natural Toothpaste:

We all know that coconut oil has a lot of great benefits to it.
Like preventing dry and flaking of the skin, and is well-
known for preventing wrinkles on the skin. It also aids in
keeping your hair healthy while growing, reducing protein
loss,  and aids in  leaving it shiny as well.  Not to mention;
it plays a big part in heart health, weight loss, immunity, etc.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut......

Let's talk about the dental aspect of it!!!!

Our go to toothpaste's are usually something like:
Crest, Colgate, Aquafresh; anything that has floride or some toothpaste that don't have floride (Toms).  I love Tom's by the way.

Although these toothpaste's are FDA approve.  You can't help but think, "What else can these toothpaste's do for me?" Right? Well let's get down to the science of over the counter toothpaste's.

Regular toothpaste's usually contains:

        -Calcium Carbonate
        -Dehydrated Cilica Gels
        -Hydrated Aluminum Oxides
        -Magnesium Carbonate
        -Phosphate Salts
        -Silicates
        -Flouride

Calcium Carbonate, Dehydrated Cilica Gels, Magnesium Carbonate, Hydrated Aluminum Oxides, Phosphate Salts, and Silicates are soft abrasives that clean and protect the teeth from plaque, and tooth decay.  Flouride remineralizes the tooth and to restores the tooth enamel, it also makes the tooth more resistant to acid attacks from plaque bacteria and sugars in the mouth reversing early tooth decay!!!!

Great!!!!!! Right???

But what else can it do.  Regular toothpaste protects for the moment.  What about those with other bacteria's lying around in their mouths, or those with gum disease?

Coconut oil provides all of that and more, but without all of the backlash of the side affects of toothpaste.  Did you know that coconut oil is benefical for the inside of your body as well as the outter?  We'll get to that later let's just focus on the dental part.  Ever heard of Streptococcus or Lactobacillus? It's a bacteria that causes tooth decay.

Coconut oil reduces plaques build up, stops Streptococcus and Lactobacillus, whitens teeth, fights bad breath, and even helps your body fight against gum disease!!!! Way to go coconut oil!!!

Let's check out the science in coconut oil as well!!!!

Coconut Oil contains:

-Saturated Fat
-MCT'S (medium-chain triglycerides)
-Lauric Acid

All of the ingredients in coconut oil go hand in hand so you aren't looking at anything seperately!!! Not to mention the other properties that come with coconut oil!!!!  Feeling convinced yet?  No?  That's ok, let's price, and quantity compare.

A tub of coconut oil could easily run you about $56 and some change that's 38lbs of just coconut oil.  No additives!!!! Think of how long this would last you. A four pack of  cologate is going to run you about $18 and some change each 8 oz tubes of toothpaste. Just comparing for $56 you would actually have to buy about 9 or 10 of those four packs of toothpaste running you about $189.90 for 32 oz's per pack, getting you 288 to 320 oz's of tooth paste. That's 2lbs per pack which equals out to about 18-20lbs for 9-10 packs

That's a $133 difference!!!!

An 18 lb difference.... no big deal right?

Coconut oil is a great resource for your teeth, gums,
and breath.  Not to mention other uses.  If your
aren't thinking about the health benefits that come
with cocnut oil; at least think about the fact that
you'll actually be saving a buck or two just purchas-
ing it.  You could potentially be saving yourself from
a dental and doctors visit.

I've heard impeccable things about coconut oil.
One was actually on pinterest; where a lady posted
her story about how it cured her cavities and when
she went to the dentist he told her that she had the
most healthiest teeth he'd ever seen.  I know, I know, don't believe everything you read right?  Well I was sketchy about it so....I tried it, and she was exactly right.  I don't eat a lot of candy, but in the past , I have had a lot of starch intake.  Too bad starches turn into sugar and that affected my teeth.  I didn't want to go to the dentist.  I just had a baby for goodness sakes!!! So I gave this coconut oil thing a go and.....it worked!!!! So now coconut plays a huge part in not only my life, but my children as well!!!
